Handcuffed kids steal U.S. border agent car

    Hello Stupid!

Illegal Alien SignHandcuffed kids steal U.S. border agent car - Yahoo! News
Wed Sep 26, 11:25 AM ET

MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - Three Mexican minors detained in California on suspicion of smuggling drugs stole a U.S. Border Patrol car while still wearing handcuffs and drove it back across the border to Mexico.

Police in the Mexican border city of Mexicali said on Tuesday the three boys had been driving a pick-up truck on a remote Californian highway when a Border Patrol agent stopped them.

Suspicious they were carrying marijuana, he handcuffed them and put them in his patrol car while he searched their truck.

“As the agent was doing his search, he left the vehicle running and the keys in the ignition, so one of the lads, still wearing handcuffs, grabbed the steering wheel and they headed back to Mexico,” a police spokesman said.

The Border Patrol, which plays cat and mouse around the clock with illegal Mexican migrants and drug traffickers, confirmed the vehicle was stolen in southern California on Sunday and driven over the border near Mexicali.

Mexican police used a helicopter to locate the patrol vehicle in a remote agricultural area near the border.

Wow…those kids should be hired by Hundini.

Amazon Mechanical Turk Used To Help Find Adventurer Steve Fossett

I got this email from Amazon:

    Mechanical Turk Logo

Steve Fossett Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk
On Monday, September 3, 2007, Steve Fossett, the first person to fly a plane around the world without refueling and the first person to fly around the world in a balloon went missing in Nevada. An airplane he was flying failed to return. No one has any idea where he is.

Through the generous efforts of individuals at several organizations, detailed satellite imagery has been made available for his last known whereabouts.

HITs have been created to ask volunteers to help review these images and flag potential areas of interest which will be instrumental in the search and rescue efforts.

If you are interested in helping, please click here to participate in the search effort.

This is a race against time and any help you can provide will make a huge difference.

Friends and family of Steve Fossett would like to thank you for helping them with this cause.
    Amazon Mechanical Turk Team

I have to hand it for Amazon…they are using an awesome technology to help find Steve Fossett. Now if only we can adapt this technology to help identify illegal aliens at the border.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - A Flagstaff man faces an auto burglary charge after he allegedly climbed into a hearse during a funeral and began stealing flowers piled inside.

Christopher Billie, 37, was booked into the Yavapai County jail on one count of auto burglary, said Sgt. Tom Boughner, a Flagstaff police spokesman.

Police were called to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church just after 8 p.m. Thursday by a funeral director who watched as Billie opened the hearse door, climbed inside and began grabbing flower vases, Boughner said. Billie, who reportedly was intoxicated, was detained by the mortician until officers arrived.

Gee wiz…just wait till the ceremony is over.

Military: Active Denial System Will dispurse Iraqi Civilians Without Killing Them

Active Denial System - Military: Active Denial System Will dispurse Iraqi Civilians Without Killing ThemThe Daily Gut
Saddam Hussein had been gone just a few weeks, and U.S. forces in Fallujah, west of Baghdad, were already being called unwelcome invaders. One of the first big anti-American protests of the war escalated into shootouts that left 18 Iraqis dead and 78 wounded.

It would be a familiar scene in Iraq’s next few years: Crowds gather, insurgents mingle with civilians. Troops open fire, and innocents die.

All the while, according to internal military correspondence obtained by The Associated Press, U.S. commanders were telling Washington that many civilian casualties could be avoided by using a new non-lethal weapon developed over the past decade.

Military leaders repeatedly and urgently requested-and were denied-the device, which uses energy beams instead of bullets and lets soldiers break up unruly crowds without firing a shot.

It’s a ray gun that neither kills nor maims, but the Pentagon has refused to deploy it out of concern that the weapon itself might be seen as a torture device.

Perched on a Humvee or a flatbed truck, the Active Denial System gives people hit by the invisible beam the sense that their skin is on fire. They move out of the way quickly and without injury.

Get this in the field now.  If anything this will be scary to the insurgents because they can’t use their ‘hide in crowd and shoot back’ technique.

Becareful Where You Leave Your Hand

Fake HandTeen loses prosthetic hand left on bike - Yahoo! News
Tue Aug 28, 8:33 PM ET

LONDON - Teenager Jack Baker had only planned to visit his girlfriend for 10 minutes. So he parked his motorcycle outside her home and left his prosthetic hand gripped to its handlebar.

When he came back outside two hours later, the hand was gone, apparently taken by a thief or a prankster who found it more interesting to make off with than the bike.

“I came out and found the hand was gone. I thought it was my girlfriend’s parents messing about, but they said it wasn’t them,” said Baker, 19.

“I went for a look around, but I couldn’t see my hand anywhere. There were no kids about and no one to ask if they had seen it. I ended up jumping on my bike and going home.”

The hand disappeared last week in Bristol, the city in southwestern England where Baker lost his right arm in a head-on crash with a bus in May.

The prosthetic hand allowed him to ride his new, specially-adapted motorbike, and Baker said he may not be able to afford the 450 pounds (US$903, euro662) it will cost to replace it.

Why would you leave you hand on a bike?  Something that important I would think you would need with your girlfriend…

Inmate Hits Sues Michael Vick With $63 Billion Dollar Lawsuit Alleging Dogs Sold On eBay Used To Buy ‘Missiles From Iran’

Michael Vick - Inmate Hits Sues Michael Vick With $63 Billion Dollar Lawsuit Alleging Dogs Sold On eBay Used To Buy 'Missiles From Iran'FOXNews.com - South Carolina Inmate Hits Michael Vick With ‘$63,000,000,000 Billion Dollar’ Lawsuit Alleging Al Qaeda Ties - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News
Embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick, facing federal charges related to his alleged participation in dogfighting, has been hit with a “$63,000,000,000 billion dollar” lawsuit filed by a South Carolina inmate who alleges the Atlanta Falcons star stole his pit bulls and sold them on eBay to buy “missiles from Iran,” FOX News has learned.

Jonathan Lee Riches filed the handwritten complaint over “theft and abuse of my animals” on July 23 in the U.S. District Court in Richmond, Va.

Riches alleges that Vick stole two white mixed pit bull dogs from his home in Holiday, Fla., and used them for dogfighting operations in Richmond, Va. The complaint goes on to allege that Vick sold the dogs on eBay and “used the proceeds to purchase missiles from the Iran government.”

The complaint also alleges that Vick would need those missiles because he pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda in February of this year.

“Michael Vick has to stop physically hurting my feelings and dashing my hopes,” Riches writes in the complaint.

Riches wants $63 billion dollars “backed by gold and silver “ delivered to the front gates to the Williamsburg Federal Correctional facility in South Carolina. Riches is an inmate at the facility serving out a wire fraud conviction.

Wow…I’m surprised they even let this wacko file the case.  This came from out of no where.

Rich Russian Tries To Buy A B-52 Bomber At Air Show

B-52 Bomber - Rich Russian Tries To Buy A B-52 Bomber At Air ShowRich Russian tries to buy U.S. bomber at air show - Yahoo! News
Fri Aug 24, 5:32 AM ET

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A wealthy Russian tried to buy a U.S. B-52 bomber from a group of shocked American pilots at an air show near Moscow, a Russian newspaper reported on Friday.

The unidentified Russian, wearing sunglasses and surrounded by bodyguards, approached the U.S. delegation and asked to buy the bomber, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper said.

An astounded member of the U.S. delegation said the bomber was not for sale but that it would cost at least $500 million (249.5 million pounds) if it were to be sold on the spot.

“That is no problem. It is such a cool machine,” the Russian was quoted as saying by the newspaper, which said its reporter overheard the conversation. The bomber was not sold.

Russia’s new rich, who built fantastic fortunes trading commodities and contacts after the fall of the Soviet Union, have made a name for themselves as ostentatious purchasers of everything from British football clubs to Faberge eggs.

I think the Russians are getting too much money from all their oil…Communism meets Capitalism.

Robotic Arm with Human-like Fluid Movement

Airic’s_arm is inspired by nature. Based on a combination of mechatronics and the biological model of a human being, it opens up new possibilities for future automated movement processes.

The Airic’s_arm is a robotic arm fitted with artificial bones and muscles. The bone structure, consisting of the human bones such as ulna and radius, metacarpal bone and finger bone, shoulder joint and shoulder blade – joints that do not occur as such in the technical world – is moved via 30 muscles.

The muscles are Festo products, which are already put to extensive use in industrial practice and known as Fluidic Muscle. Using this technology, in conjunction with Festo’s tiny, highly innovative piezo-proportional valves, it is possible to precisely regulate the forces and rigidity within the construction. These actuators can be coordinated using state-of-the-art mechatronic systems and software.

    Interesting to say the least.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli police arrested a woman who stole a pair of Crocs shoes when she returned to the store hours later to exchange them because they did not fit her son, a police spokesman said on Friday.

“The store clerk identified her from security camera footage and called us,” said Amos Shimoni, police spokesman in the northern town of Safed.

“Instead of exchanging the shoes for another pair, she exchanged them for a criminal record.”

Biker Drives More Than A Mile With Part Of His Leg Gone Before Noticing

Leg - Biker Drives More Than A Mile With Part Of His Leg Gone Before NoticingBiker fails to notice missing leg - Yahoo! News
Tue Aug 14, 9:53 AM ET

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese biker failed to notice his leg had been severed below the knee when he hit a safety barrier, and rode on for more than a mile, leaving a friend to pick up the missing limb.
The 54-year-old office worker was out on his motorcycle with a group of friends in the city of Hamamatsu, west of Tokyo, on Monday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and bumped into the central barrier, the Mainichi Shimbun said.

He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying.

The man and his leg were taken to a hospital, but the limb had been crushed in the collision, the paper said.

The pain doesn’t get to his brain fast enough…wow.
